Collection Days

City of Columbus Trash/Recycling/Yard Waste Collection
 
Sycamore Hills is in the PINK collection zone.  (645-PINK).  
 
Recycling is collected every Wednesday. Yard Waste is collected every other Wednesday.  Recycling and yard waste will be collected on Thursday in the event of a holiday on Wednesday.
 
You may also visit the 311 website for additional collection information, to add events to your electronic calendar, or set-up email reminders.

Neighborly Reminders
  • Pet Policies - Please keep your pet on the leash when walking in the neighborhood. It is the law to clean up after you pet. There have been a lot of dog deposits found in the common area around the pool. Please remember children play in those areas so it's important to clean up after your pet.
  • Curb Parking - Please be mindful when parking cars along the curb, especially of neighbors driveways and avoid blocking situations. It is Columbus City Code that cars may be parked at the curb no longer than 72 hours unattended/unmoved. Trailers, campers, motor homes are not to be parked along the curb. 
  • Speed Limit - is 25 MPH inside Sycamore Hills. Please be mindful of your speed, especially in the summer when many neighbors are utilizing the streets for walking and biking as well
  • City of Columbus Call Center 311 - questions or concerns about parking, park use, trash collection, building codes, and MORE can be found through the City’s 311 call center or online at 311.columbus.gov 
  • SHRA Blockwatch: - Neighbors helping neighbors stay safe! Report suspicious behavior to Columbus Police at 645-4545 (non-emergency) or to the SHRA Blockwatch. Keep garage doors closed.

~ Upcoming Events ~
March Madness
Friday, March 1st
Whether you complete your bracket by looking at a team's record, uniform color, mascot or doing in-depth research anyone can be a winner during March Madness.  SHRA will be accepting brackets starting on Selection Sunday- March 17th up until the first game starts on March 21st.  We are still ironing out the details but one thing we know for sure- brackets will be busted, the person with the least amount of college basketball knowledge will probably win and everyone will have a good time!   Keep your eyes out for additional information and start watching games now!!
Easter Egg Hunt and Bunny Brunch
Saturday, March 23rd
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Bunny Brunch will be held on Saturday March 23rd.  The egg hunt will begin at 9:30 at the common areas by the pool.  There will be 3 age groups- 0-3 years will be in the grassy area in front of the pool, 4-7 years old will be in the grassy area behind the pool and 8 and older will be in the grassy area on the north side near the pool.  The Bunny Brunch will be held after the egg hunt has ended.  A huge thanks to Aaron and Lauren Klein at  1300 Millington Ct for hosting the Bunny Brunch this year .  The Easter Bunny will also be in attendance. We can always use help stuffing eggs and hiding the eggs, if you can help with either of those things- please email Melisa at melanania2013@gmail.com.  Rain date is Saturday March 30th. 
Annual Wine Social
Saturday, May 18th, 7 PM at South side residents homes
If you haven't already- mark your calendars for Saturday May 18th for the SHRA Wine Social.  It will be on the south side beginning at 7:00 pm and ending around 10pm. There will be a fee for this event.  For those who are new- the wine social is a progressive mixer split among 3 homes.  There will be wine at each home and we ask all participants to bring either an appetize or desert to share. As we get closer to the event we will provide more detailed information.  We are in need of one more house to host- if you are interested please email Melisa at melanania2013@gmail.com.  

~ Association Meetings ~
The board plans to meet each month, on the first Thursday @ 7 PM.
Members are welcome to use the Contact Us form to request being added to the agenda.    You will be placed first on the agenda and will be given a limited time to present your idea, suggestion or complaint or compliment.  Should additional time be necessary, the board may choose to extend the discussion time or invite you to meet with one of us at another time.  Each months meeting location changes so your request will be acknowledged with the location for the next meeting. 
 
 
The board reserves the right to move the meeting date, time and location.
